The 2006 Ozone Snowkite Masters was a hit! With over a hundred attendees, the event filled Skyline Ridge’s blue expanse with a colorful array of kites. Top athletes from around the globe flew off hills, rode vertical cornices, and showed the rest of us what’s possible in snowkiting. With excellent wind Friday through Monday, everyone who attended with the intention of riding got to put in at least one good session. The normally boisterous Saturday Night Party was tranquil because everyone’s energy was drained from a solid day of riding. The true highlight came with strong, impossibly steady winds on Monday. Those who wanted to flew off the ridge top while others skirted around the side of the hills at amazing speeds. Having rode the entire Ozone Snowkite Tour ’06, I know there couldn’t have been a better way to end my season then with Monday’s session at OSM.
