Me Too!
I am in Maine (20 miles from Moosehead Lake) and in the same boat. I have a low-rent kite that I have managed to use successfully a couple of times and would like to learn more.

Kiters in Maine.
Where in Maine are you guys? We live in North Conway just over the border. Good idea not to try to learn on your own, the learning curve is way shorter if you have someone else to help out and it would be a lot safer and less frustrating. The land access here is pretty limited/non-existant but we have good lake access when the ice is in. PM me if you guys want to head out when the ice is good or if you have access to some wide open land with some snow we could head over your way maybe.

Hey guys, thanks for your responces! Fisha and Feyd thanks a lot for suggestion of your help! I live in Orono, it's not far from North Conway, so i'll be happy to come someday to conway.
unfortunatly, is not so much open places near Orono, maybe only eastward from here. i'll ask my friends, i'n not familiar with this area.
and Cryofthelon, in what town are you live?

Jackman
I live in the town of Jackman. While there isn't much open land around there are some big and very big lakes nearby. Moosehead, Brassua, Indian Pond, Big Wood. Some of them are frozen up now.
