Post Stormboarding update: Speed contest, Kitestorm, racing in VT
Hello snowkiters from around the world. We hope you had a good liquid-riding season and are as psyched as us for the snowkite season. Ice is building here and we are getting closer but out of respect for those of you already riding, we wanted to get the Speed Ranking Contest officially kicked off and running.

2006-2007 Speed Ranking
The contest is ON. We will start with an early season prize for the speediest of December to be announced on New Year’s Day. Weekly prizes will start with that first week of 2007. We are very psyched to have Ozone, Dakine and Himaya back with us (confirmed) and we are talking to others (looking for those big prizes) so stay tuned. To encourage participation, we will also send goodies to entrants based on location, gender, age and other not so predictable criteria so send in those speeds even if they are not necessarily going to top the list. We found it fun to watch as people moved up the list at their own pace. Joe Levins and John Zietlow have kicked things off on skates in Minnesota. Keep your eyes on

Kitestorm 2007
The planning for the fourth annual Kitestorm is in full swing and we can’t wait to see riders from all over back for some fun. We will feature kite demos, clinics, speed contest, photo contest and more. Keep your eyes on the Kitestorm page for details. Some details to note: the Best Western is already taking reservations and will hold the $69 rate until January 24 only (their contact info is on our web site); the Kitestorm times are shifted a little earlier to 9-3 since everyone is riding early anyway and we are asking new snowkiters to pre-register for the free Taste of Snowkiting Clinics. See for all updates and announcements.

Saturday Morning Snowkite Racing
Once we have our huge expanse of frozen lake ready, we will start Saturday morning snowkite racing. This will be informal and open to all. Many local riders are already doing their wall-sits and are psyched for some round-the-islands action on Lake Champlain. Details on once we are riding.

We are looking forward to a great snowkite season here in VT and beyond. The Snowkite Fitness info is still up on our site as well as info on school gear, holiday specials, gift certificates, all the contest and event info and more. Happy holidays to all. Be safe. Have fun. Go fast.

Think snow,
