check this crazy video out he was lucky he didn't hit the rocks on the way down otherwise he would have surely been a dead man! at first i thought he was an idiot for not letting go earlier but it lifts him up so suddenly that he maybe didn't have the chance. bet he soiled himself! *Edited By The Administrator (Eric B) : I embeded the youtube video in the post. |

you know I saw this...and i am slightly sadened by the cheering..this was not intentional....perhaphs the kiter should learn how to shut the kite off really fast! the word LuCK seriously rings deep in the mind today for this gentlemen.... Mind you I love being in the air, for as long as possible but like the old paragliding mantra....better to wish you were in the air, then to wish you were on the ground! |

Good thing he was hooked-in while aloft. I'm sure its tough to predict wind conditions on the side of a mountain, but these folks had some clues that what they were doing wasn't wise: 1. exposed rocks (and ancient buildings!?) directly downwind and feet away 2. strong variable winds (He could hardly hold an edge at the start of the film, but then had to sit down and s-turn the kite just to change direction seconds later.) --- It's not that I haven't made poor judgment calls myself, but I guess I've made enough to realize the value of steady wind and a solid helmet. Stay safe folks! |
