Speed contest is On for 2009, early winners from Northeast
For the first week of prizes, the top speeds came in from the Northeast. Chris Krug was the fastest on the ice with a speed of 57.3mph and Charles Meding at 50.8mph both in New Hampshire but it was Randy Berube who was the fastest to submit earning him the week's prize of an
Ozone Wallet. He was riding in Maine and went 46.4mph on skis.

Week 2's winner will be lucky with some
Dakine quick wax.
Remember to try and get your speeds emailed to us by around 2pm EST on Monday. We will post all speeds we receive but prizes go out the top speed of those who submit on time.
With this big cold spell, we imagine that there is good ice across the USA and hope to hear from more of you as you can get outside again. The snow is perfect for riding here in Vermont (maybe not for top speeds though but great for cruising, jumping and learning).
Be safe. Ride fast.
Think snow,
