Hey guys, looking to get into Snowkiting and eventually Kitesurfing. Looking at getting my first training kite and I think I'm sold on Slingshot's B2 or B3 with a control bar. I'm just not sure what the major difference is, I can save $110 if I go for the B2 which could in turn be used for a bigger kite or harness. I'm 5' 8" 120 pounds and it seems like most kites are rated for 180 pounds. So my question is will the B2 have enough power to pull me in 10-15 MPH winds? |

If you're just wanting to practice kite skills, get the smaller 2m kite. If you want to be pulled with 10-15 mph winds, I think that you'll need something larger than the 3m. The Ozone 5M Flow and HQ Scout seem to make good 'beginner' kites. Practice kite flying skills in light winds 7-10 mph, and, when you're ready, use them to pull yourself in higher wind speeds. I'd suggest getting some pointers from an expert before you do this, however. |
