For those willing to give it a try, the icy (but textured) surface at Sand Bar this past weekend was a nice surprise. It was edgeable and fast and with a great steady breeze on Saturday, bright blue sky, kites to demo, skills to learn and free cookies to be eaten fun was had by all. We saw around 300 riders, media and spectators over the weekend with the ice giving those on skis have the best rides. That said, there were plenty of skilled and well-padded snowboarders out there having great sessions. For the speed contest, we congratulate Bob Christian who went 53.6mph in Mass to top the Kitestorm crowd. He won an Ozone t-shirt. Next week's winner will sport a Dynafit hat.
