Post Kitestorm 2010 featuring a long distance race and more
We are very excited to announce a new part of the Kitestorm: racing. It is time to mix things up a bit and give riders of all abilities a new challenge. We have an incredible venue for a great round-the-islands race. So, this is the preliminary announcement while we work on our final details.

Kitestorm 2010 Race: Saturday Feb 20 with Sunday Feb 21 as the back-up day

Course: Long-distance course, with checkpoints, designed to take 2-4 hours with a shorter option as well

Eligibility: Riders of all abilities are welcome (newer riders will race the short course), riders must provide their own gear including a helmet and be registered for the event.

Fee: There will be a small entry fee for the racing (not the other parts of the Kitestorm).

Party/Awards: This year, our after-party will also be the awards dinner. It will be at the Best Western and we are arranging a delicious and affordable dinner for all Kitestorm riders and friends in the same room, along with our own cash bar so we do not have to squash into the Upper Deck. We will have our photos from the day, snowkite videos and as always lots of prizes for racers and non-racing riders alike.

Whatever your thoughts on racing, we will still have our great kite partners: HQ, Slingshot, Peter Lynn and more running free demos and we will still have our Taste of Snowkite Clinics for people who have never had a chance to try. We do recommend that new riders come for full Intro lessons before the event. Friday the 19th is already almost full so please get in touch if you want a full lesson in the few days before the event.

The Best Western has kept rates low: $75 per night so we recommend you get your reservation sorted earlier than later. Call them at 800-371-1125 and tell them you are coming for the Kitestorm. Coming with a group? This year there are also great rates on suites. And, as always, chocolate chip cookies before bed.

More race and partner details to come. Keep an eye on http://www.stormboarding.com/kitestorm2010.html for all the Kitestorm info

Think snow,
