I dont snowboard , but have been kiteboarding for 4 years. smallest kite is a 9 M bow (switchblade , cabriniha)... 60 yrs of age and not particularly aggressive in riding style. what would I need to snowkite, 195 lbs. foil ? M, 6M inflatable? would be nice to be able to use the kite on water too... some foils are water relaunchable or so they advertise... recommendations??? |

Sounds like that 9m will suit ya fine if you will be in a light - moderate wind area, but a foil of that size would be better suited for cruising in those conditions. In a strong wind area I would go with a 7m LEI or a 6m foil. But I will fly my kite to the end of its wind range regardless of the season. Because we get similar conditions year round despite the seasons, but we definitely get more days in the winter in my area. |

People will use a wide range of kite sizes on land like they do on water. You won't see as many 17+m on land, but anything from 5-16 will work depending on your wind speeds are. I would look to see what the normal wind range of your snowkite area is, and consider using what you already have! It might work out just fine to be honest:) |
