sure can! My favorite analogy is that a kiter uses a kite like a sailboat uses a sail. You can go downwind, most of the time you track perpendicular to the wind, and you can tack upwind too! You can ride around for 5 hours covering tons of miles, and end in the same place you started |

YES - you can totally kite up wind. I was having a hard time learing how to snowkite up wind at first, so I ended up taking a lesson in Newfoundland Canada from a company called my newfoundland adventures - it was amazing was some instruction in a prime environment did. I was trying to learn on a feild outside of Toronto but when I went to Newfoundland I got to practice on an alpine plateau at 2000' that was 50 sq/km and totally snow covered. With the snowmobile backup, it make learning easy and fun! You can check out the kite school website at or you can visit for more info too. |
