It looks like Lake Benton, MN is getting clobbered with snow. Just 2 miles to the south is "Hole in the Mountain" WMA with some of the best terrain in the Midwest. Lake Benton itself is good for anyone who wants to stay on the flat in higher wind, and there are some decent plateau flats at Altona WMA too if you need to make the best out of light wind. But when it comes up, there is terrain off to the side too. I cannot comment on the current snow conditions, but Intellicast "US snowcover" is showing a 30+ inch base below what they are getting now. I will post on the actual conditions as soon as I can personally verify them. Any one else up for some terrain next week? |
